Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Directions:

  1. Combine first 6 ingredients (from the flour to the cinnamon).
  2. Cut in the shortening.
  3. Add the beaten egg.
  4. Alternately add the mashed banana and the oatmeal.
  5. If desired, add the chopped walnuts next.
  6. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet (s) at 400 degrees F for 15 min (check at 9 min).
