This barbecue sauce is great on ribs, chicken or just as a dipping and snacking sauce. It is sweet with just the littlest bit of tang. My kids love it. Ingredients:
1/4 cup molasses |
1 cup ketchup |
6 tablespoons apple cider vinegar |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
5 teaspoons liquid smoke |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon onion powder |
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard |
3/4 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1 tablespoon water |
Directions:
1. Mix first 5 ingredients in sauce pan. Turn burner on low. 2. Mix next 5 dry ingredients in a separate bowl, and stir into the wet ingredients a little at a time, to make sure everything is smooth. 3. Once it is all mixed together, turn burner to medium and bring to a simmer, stirring occassionally. Simmer 15 minutes to meld flavors. 4. Mix cornstarch and water, stir into sauce and simmer 5 more minutes. |
