Polish Apple Soup Pronounced [Zhoo-pah zha-blah-kah-vah] Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs apples |
4 cups water |
1 teaspoon cornstarch |
1 tablespoon water |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/3 cup sugar |
3/4 cup sour cream |
macaroni or crouton |
Directions:
1. Cover 2/3 or apples, quartered, with boiling water and simmer for 15 minutes. 2. Rub through a sieve. 3. Add cornstarch mixed with 1 tbs. water. Bring to boil. 4. Add cinnamon and sugar. 5. Remove from the heat. 6. Add the rest of the apples, peeled and shredded, add sour cream. 7. Serve warm or cold with macaroni or croutons agter the meat course. |
