My mom made this all the time for us when we were little. It's really really yummy and great with italian bread. Ingredients:
1 lb italian sausage, ground |
2 cups celery, chopped |
1 cup onion, chopped |
2 green peppers, chopped |
2 lbs zucchini, chopped |
7 cups diced tomatoes, canned, do not drain |
2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1 teaspoon oregano |
1/2 teaspoon basil |
1 cup red wine |
1/2 cup water |
parmesan cheese |
Directions:
1. Brown italian sausage in large pot. 2. Add all other ingredients except parmesan cheese, cover and simmer until vegetables are cooked through, an hour or so. 3. Serve with parmesan cheese on top with crusty italian bread. |
