Another white sauce based cheese sauce kicked up a notch Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter |
1/4 cup flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1/2 teaspoon cayenne |
1/2 teaspoon dried mustard |
1 1/2 cups milk |
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. 2. Blend in flour, salt, pepper, cayenne and mustard. 3. Stir constantly for one minute until well mixed. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk. 4. Return to heat and cook over medium high heat until thick and bubbly. Stir frequently. 5. Mix in cheese and stir until melted. Remove from heat, cover to keep warm until serving. |
