My mom's recipe that brings back good memories of childhood. Ingredients:
4 lbs ground beef |
1 cup onion, chopped |
1 cup green pepper, finely chopped |
2 (10 3/4 ounce) cans condensed tomato soup, undiluted |
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce, thick and zesty |
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce |
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed |
1/4 cup ketchup |
3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1 tablespoon prepared mustard |
1 tablespoon dry mustard |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
1 teaspoon garlic salt |
25 hamburger buns |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan or dutch oven over medium heat, brown beef and onion. Add green pepper. Cook and stir for 5 minutes; drain. Add the next 10 ingredients, bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Serve on buns. |
