I made up this recipe because I had cabbage and broccoli slaw and kielbasa that needed to be cooked up. I just finished cooking it for the first time and Wow! I loved it, my DH loved it, even the kids all loved it and ate up every bite. Hint: do all your cutting up before you begin to cook. Great served with rice. Ingredients:
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1/4 teaspoon paprika |
1 teaspoon turmeric |
1 pinch red pepper flakes |
2 tablespoons prepared brown mustard |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1 lb polska kielbasa, cut in half and then sliced thin |
1 onion, sliced |
1 green onion, sliced |
4 carrots, cut into matchsticks |
1/4 cup water |
1/2 head cabbage, chopped |
6 ounces broccoli slaw mix (1/2 a bag) |
Directions:
1. Heat up a large frying pan or wok on med-high heat. 2. Add garlic powder, paprika, turmeric, and red pepper flakes to dry pan. Stir, let the spices heat up in the dry pan for about 1 minute. This releases the aromatic oils and helps the spices to blend. 3. To the spices add olive oil, kielbasa, both onions, and the carrots. Stir to combine and cook 5-7 minutes, or until carrot begins to get tender. 4. Add prepared mustard, water, cabbage, and broccoli slaw. Stir fry until cabbage is crisp-tender, about 5 minutes. 5. Serve with rice. |
