Authentic Italian recipe for meatballs, but with turkey instead of pork.
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef, 85% lean
1/2 lb. ground turkey
1 cup bread crumbs, fresh
1/2 cup milk, 2% lowfat
1 egg
1/4 cup italian parsley, minced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
2 tablespoons lemon zest, grated
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, mix beef, turkey, bread crumbs, milk and egg.
2. Mix in parsley, nutmeg, lemon zest, cheese and salt n pepper.
3. Shape into 18 equal sized balls about the size of large golfball, bake on cookie sheet in 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes.
4. Serve with tomato sauce.
