Authentic Italian recipe for meatballs, but with turkey instead of pork. Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef, 85% lean |
1/2 lb. ground turkey |
1 cup bread crumbs, fresh |
1/2 cup milk, 2% lowfat |
1 egg |
1/4 cup italian parsley, minced |
3 cloves garlic, minced |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
2 tablespoons lemon zest, grated |
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, mix beef, turkey, bread crumbs, milk and egg. 2. Mix in parsley, nutmeg, lemon zest, cheese and salt n pepper. 3. Shape into 18 equal sized balls about the size of large golfball, bake on cookie sheet in 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes. 4. Serve with tomato sauce. |
