I made this the day before Thanksgiving to go with some cold boiled shrimp I served as an appetizer. It's quick and easy and tastes so much better than the bottled variety! Adjust the horseradish and hot sauce to suit your tastes. Originally from a Holiday Williams-Sonoma catalog. * I didn't have celery salt, so I crushed 1/4 teaspoon celery seed and added that.Tasted great and cut down on some of the sodium! Ingredients:
1 cup catsup |
1 -2 tablespoon prepared horseradish |
2 tablespoons minced shallots or 2 tablespoons minced onions |
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice |
1/2 teaspoon hot sauce |
1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce |
1/4 teaspoon celery salt |
Directions:
1. In a small bowl, blend all ingredients. 2. Cover and refrigerate cocktail sauce at least several hours to allow flavors to blend. 3. May be prepared several days ahead. |
