Zeppoli Fried Bread Dough

My Grandmother used to make these as a special treat, they are comparable to a State Fair's Treat but SO much better!
Ingredients:
1 ( 1/4 oz) pk. active dry yeast
1 c water
1 1/2 c flour
1 qt. vegetable oil ( for frying)
2 tbs. confectioners sugar
Directions:
1. heat 3 inches of oil to 375 degrees
2. in Large bowl dissolve yeast in 1/2 C warm water
3. set aside for 10 minutes
4. stir remaining 1/2 C water in bowl
5. add flour, beat until soft dough forms
6. turn dough on soft surface.. kneed with greased hands until smooth
7. place dough in greased bowl and turn to coat
8. cover with damp cloth
9. let rise in warm area 1 -1/2 hrs.
10. fry golf ball sizes of dough in batches until golden brown
11. drain on paper towels
12. sprinkle with confectioners sugar
13. enjoy hot!!!
