This is an amazing recipe that my family demands I make every year. I can't even try to deviate! Ingredients:
2 (17 ounce) cans cut yams in syrup |
1/3 cup evaporated milk |
2 eggs, unbeaten |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup light brown sugar |
1/3 cup flour |
1/4 cup butter, melted |
1 cup pecans, chopped |
Directions:
1. Heat yams in syrup, then drain and place in a greased or buttered 6x10 pyrex dish. 2. Heat together:. 3. 1/3 cup evaporated milk. 4. 2 eggs unbeaten (stir). 5. 1 stick of melted butter. 6. 3/4 cup of sugar. 7. 1 tspn of vanilla. 8. Pour mixture over yams. 9. Topping:. 10. 1 cup light brown sugar. 11. 1/3 cup of flour. 12. 1/2 stick of melted butter. 13. 1 cup of chopped pecans. 14. Cover the casserole with topping. 15. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes. |
