I had been using a basic granola recipe for a while but just realized that I altered it so much it had become a different recipe all together, so here it is! Great with Frozen Ban-Ola! and Yogurt & Granola Fruit Salad Ingredients:
4 cups oats (i use multi-grain) |
1/2 cup applesauce |
3/4 cup brown sugar |
3 tablespoons honey (i use creamed honey) |
1 tablespoon cinnamon |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
1/2 cup flax seed meal |
1/2 cup cashew pieces (or any other nut you like) |
3/4 cup raisins (or any other dried fruit) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Put oats in a microwaveable bowl and cook for two minutes, stirring after one. (This warms the oats helping to melt all the ingredients together). 3. Add remaining ingredients, except the dried fruit, and stir until very well blended. 4. Pour mixture into two large oven safe dishes and bake for 20 minutes, stirring every five. 5. Add dried fruit. 6. Spread on wax paper to cool. |
