Fast, easy and so very good! Ingredients:
1 cup shortening |
1 1/3 cups sugar |
3 eggs |
1/2 teaspoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 1/2 cups flour |
4 1/2 teaspoons cocoa |
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk |
8 ounces flaked coconut |
1/2 cup milk |
2 cups sugar |
1/2 cup shortening |
1 cup chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Crust: Cream shortening and sugar. 2. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. 3. Add remaining crust ingredients, mixing thoroughly. 4. Bake in 15 x 10 x 1-in. 5. jelly roll pan for 20 minutes at 375. 6. Filling: Combine sweetened milk and coconut. 7. Spread over baked crust. 8. Broil until lightly browned. 9. Cool completely. 10. Frosting: Bring to rolling boil milk, sugar and shortening, stirring constantly. 11. Remove from heat. 12. Stir in chocolate chips. 13. Continue to stir until mixture reaches spreading consistency. |
