A combination of shortbread and macaroons, but not quite. Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup butter |
2 teaspoons brown sugar |
3 tablespoons strawberry jam |
2 eggs |
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar |
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour |
1 cup chopped walnuts |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (170 degrees C). 2. To make Crust: Mix together first three ingredients and pack into the bottom of an 8 x 8 inch pan. Dot with strawberry jam. 3. To make Topping: Beat together the rest of the ingredients and pour over the crust. 4. Bake till firm for 30-35 minutes. |
