From my mom's recipe box...no name or original source. (Guess I am telling my age with that name...who remembers those commercials? LOL) Anyway, these are extremely easy and sooooo yummy, and we made them often. Read more . Found the card on Thanksgivign in her recipe box, in the C's , somehow everrthing we liked was always in the C's in her recipe box...whether it was chicken casserole, jello salad, or spaghetti! LOL Is a running joke at her house. Ingredients:
2 sticks margarine or butter (margarine works fine) |
1 3/4 c sugar |
a c peanut butter |
2 large eggs plus 1 large egg yolk |
2 t vanilla |
2 c all purpose flour |
12 oz bag semi sweet or milk chocolate chips - divided into 1 1/2 c and 1/2 c |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 2. Butter a 9x13 baking pan 3. Using an electric mixer: 4. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy (better if the boutter is softened instead of cold) 5. Beat in peanut butter 6. Beat in eggs, yolk and vanilla 7. Mix in flour on low speed 8. Stir in 1 1/2 c chocolate chips 9. Spread in buttered pan - batter is kinda thick and a little sticky 10. Bake 40-45 minutes, until edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center has a few small crumbs attached 11. Remove from oven and immediately scatter remaining chips on top of brownies 12. When they are soft and shiny, spread over brownies to form icing 13. Allow to cool completely, cut into squares and store in airtight container |
