Creamy, salad-like rice dish Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups jasmine rice |
2 cups plain yogurt |
1 cup cilantro, chopped |
1 teaspoon jalapeno, chopped |
1 1/2 teaspoons ginger, minced |
1 teaspoon mustard seeds |
1/4 teaspoon hing |
1 tablespoon channa dal |
salt, to taste |
3 curry leaves |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Cook Rice. 2. cool, then mix in yogurt. 3. Heat oil in wok, then add mustard seeds. 4. When they crackle, add chana dal, hing, curry leaves, ginger and jalapeno. 5. Stir and cook 1 minute. 6. Add to rice, along with cilantro and salt. 7. Chill 1 hour. 8. Serve cold. |
