So easy to make and healthier than traditional biscuits since the shortening has been replaced (I use a canola/vegetable oil blend and a low-fat organic yogurt). These are light as a feather and wonderful with jam or gravy. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
1/4 teaspoon baking soda |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/4 cup oil |
1 cup plain yogurt |
Directions:
1. Preheat over to 375°F. 2. In a large bowl, sift together dry ingredients. 3. Add oil and yogurt and mix well. 4. Place dough on a board and knead until smooth. Roll out to an inch thickness and cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter. 5. Place biscuits on a cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until brown on top. Serve hot. |
