Ingredients:
2 quarts water |
1/4 cup milk |
1/4 cup half-and-half |
1/3 cup sugar |
2 cinnamon sticks |
1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger |
2 teaspoons whole cloves |
2 teaspoons cardamom seeds |
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
Directions:
1. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce it to a simmer. Add the milk, half-and-half, sugar, and cinnamon, and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and simmer an additional 30 minutes. Strain and serve hot or cold. |
