Yellow Rice With Peas

Turmeric gives this rice side dish its vivid yellow hue.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup long grain rice
2 teaspoons italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
2 cups chicken broth
1 cup frozen peas
salt, as desired
Directions:
1. Heat oil in large skillet on medium heat. Add onion; cook and stir 3 minutes until softened. Add rice, Italian seasoning and turmeric; cook and stir 2 minutes.
2. Stir in broth. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 15 minutes. Stir in peas; cover. Cook 5 to 8 minutes or until rice is tender.
