A gread side dish with stews, meat, poultry, or fish. Ingredients:
3 cups water |
1 1/2 cups uncooked rice |
1 cup seedless raisins |
1/2 tsp turmeric |
1 tsp cinnamon |
3 tbsp light brown sugar |
5 tbsp butter or margarine |
Directions:
1. Bring water to a boil over high heat, add rice, reduce heat to simer, cover, and cook for 2- minutes or until rice is tender. Remove from heat. 2. Add raisins, turmeric, cinnamon, brown sugar and butter; mix well, cover and reduce heat to warm for 10 minutes. |
