These are my company waffles-the ones I fix when we have overnight guests. They are so good! The best thing is that you do most of the preparation the night before, so the next morning the waffle batter is ready before the waffle iron is hot. Ingredients:
2 cups milk |
1 pkg yeast |
1/2-cup warm water |
1/3 cup melted butter |
1 tsp salt |
1 tsp sugar |
3 cups flour |
2 eggs, slightly beaten |
1/2 tsp baking soda |
Directions:
1. Scald milk; cool to lukewarm. 2. Sprinkle yeast on warm water in large bowl, stir to dissolve. 3. Add milk, butter, salt, sugar and flour to yeast; mix thoroughly with mixer until batter is smooth. 4. Cover and let stand at room temperature overnight. 5. When ready to bake, add eggs and baking soda. Beat well. 6. Bake on pre-heated waffle iron. 7. Makes 6-8 waffles. |
