I learned this recipe from a Native American woman whom I adore immensely. It is the easiest yeast bread recipe to do. I hope that you enjoy this recipe as much as I do. Ingredients:
2 packages rapid rise yeast |
1 cup hot water, from the sink |
1 cup milk |
2 eggs |
1 cup sunflower oil |
1 tsp. salt |
1/4 cup sugar |
flour |
Directions:
1. Dissolve yeast in water; set aside. 2. In a large mixing bowl, add yeast, milk, eggs, oil, salt and sugar; mix with a whisk. Add in enough flour to make a thick pancake batter. Cover bowl with a towel and let rise until doubled, about 40 minutes. 3. Then add enough flour to make a soft dough. 4. Knead 8 times and spray with cooking spray and place back in bowl. 5. Cover with towel and let rise for a second time, until doubled, about 40 minutes. 6. Punch down and form into 24 balls. 7. Grease 2-13x9 baking pans. 8. Place 12 dough balls in each pan. 9. Let rise one last time, until doubled, about 40 minutes 10. Heat oven to 350*. Bake for 30 minutes. 11. Serve warm with lots of butter |
