Yankee Banana Bread

A nifty way to bake a quick bread. If you don't want to bake in cans, use 4 x 8 loaf pans. The loaves may be frozen. Thaw; heat at 350F, wrapped in foil for 20 minutes. From an old newspaper clipping.
Ingredients:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup mashed banana (about 3 medium)
1 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup molasses
3/4 cup dates, pitted and minced
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F and lightly grease/flour three one-pound cans.
2. Mix dry ingredients together; stir in remaining ingredients.
3. Turn into prepared pans and bake 45 minutes or until loaves test done.
4. Cool 10 minutes; turn out of cans and serve warm with butter.
