A new twist on an old favorite. The reason they're world famous is that friends of mine from Germany visited me and loved them and took the recipe back home with them! These burgers are savory and flavorful, with a hint of kick. Ingredients:
500 g extra lean ground beef |
1 vidalia onion |
60 g minced garlic cloves |
30 g mustard |
30 g worcestershire sauce |
30 g breadcrumbs |
15 g pepper |
15 g tabasco sauce |
30 g olive oil |
Directions:
1. 1. Chop the Vidalia Onion semi-coarsely. 2. 2. Mix all ingredients except the Olive Oil in a bowl. 3. 3. Form into as many patties as you want (4 is usually best, but with the extra bulk of the onions you can make as many as 6) and put a small amount of the mixture aside. 4. 4. Push a hole in the top of each patty and pour in a couple of drops of Olive Oil and then cover each hole with part of the left over mixture. 5. 5. Cook to desired doneness by any method you choose (BBQ grill, pan, oven, that boxer's grill, etc). 6. 6. This recipe is very easy to double or halve as you see fit. |
