Use your favorite Wisconsin cheese in this delicious deep-fried morsel. From the Wisconsin Dutch chapter of the United States Regional Cookbook, Culinary Arts Institute of Chicago, 1947 Cooking time approximate. Ingredients:
1 cup cheese, grated |
1 teaspoon flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 dash pepper |
1 egg white, stiffly beaten |
oil (for frying) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oil to 375F in a large saucepan. 2. Mix the first four ingredients together; fold in egg white. 3. Form into small balls and fry until golden brown. |
