Simple recipe using canned Chestnuts. I have never tried it with fresh ones, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Also, I don't use as much dressing and I don't like it overly sweet. I honestly don't remember what site I found this on as I have had the recipe for years. Ingredients:
1 large unpeeled cucumber |
1 15 1/2 ounce can whole chestnuts |
4 ounces cheddar cheese |
3 tablespoons french dressing |
Directions:
1. Wash and dry cucumber 2. Cut into quarters, lengthwise, then thinly slice into a non-metal bowl Grate cheddar cheese 3. add to cucumber 4. Break up the chestnuts into fairly large pieces 5. Add to cucumber and cheese 6. Toss well to mix, adding the French dressing. 7. Chill for one hour before serving |
