From 1001 Low Fat Vegetarian Ingredients:
2 cups port wine |
1/3-1/2 cup sugar |
1 cinnamon stick |
1 whole nutmeg |
12 medium plums |
Directions:
1. Combine wine, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium saucepan. Heat to boiling. 2. Add plums, and reduce heat to low. 3. Gently simmer plums, covered, 10-15 minutes until tender. Remove to serving dish. 4. Bring poaching liquid to a boil over high heat. Boil gently for 12-15 minutes or until slightly thickened. 5. Serve over plums. |
