A very simple cake to make using up dropped apples or those eating apples past their best.got this from chefabilitysioux's handwritten scrapbook when she wasn't looking delicious as a warm pudding with custard or cold as a cake have a go its fab Ingredients:
9 ounces self raising flour |
6 ounces baking margarine |
4 ounces caster sugar |
4 ounces sultanas |
12 ounces cored and cubed skin on apples |
2 eggs |
1 pinch salt |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to gas mark 3. 2. grease an 8 inch cake tin. 3. sift flour and salt into a mixing bowl. 4. rub in the margarine. 5. stir in sugar,sultanas and apples. 6. stir in eggs(do not beat). 7. Put mix in tin. 8. bake for 50 minutes. 9. whilst still warm sprinkle with caster sugar to get the masking it pretty effect. |
