One of my favorite recipes. Got it from a recipe book. Ingredients:
1 head red leaf lettuce |
2 strips bacon |
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar |
1 teaspoon sugar (optional) |
1/2 avocado (optional) |
Directions:
1. Wash lettuce, pat dry and tear into pieces. Put in heatproof bowl for later. 2. Cook bacon until crisp. Drain thoroughly, leave drippings in pan. 3. Mix vinegar and sugar with bacon drippings. 4. If using avocado, peel and cube. 5. Heat vinegar and drippings to just below boiling. 6. Pour dressing over lettuce and toss. 7. Crumble bacon over salad and add avocado. 8. Toss again and serve. 9. Enjoy! |
