2 cups suet |
2 cups raisins |
2 cups dried currants |
2 cups sugar |
2 cups buttermilk |
salt |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
3 eggs |
5 -6 cups flour |
1 tablespoon vanilla |
1 tablespoon butter |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup water |
Directions:
1. finely chop suet 2. mix all ingredients except last 3 thats for sauce with enough flour (see) to make thick 3. pour into steamer to steam 1 hour 4. meanwhile mix sugar vanilla and some water and let come to a boil for sauce. |
