My mother moved to Wichita Falls, Texas from Massachusetts in the 1950s and learned many new dishes from her Texan ex-mother-in-law. This delicious mop for grilling is among those recipes. This recipe makes about a quart and a half of it, and it's best to use beef stock, but broth is okay in a pinch. Ingredients:
3/4 tablespoon salt |
3/4 tablespoon dry mustard |
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder |
1/2 tablespoon chili powder |
1/4 tablespoon bay leaf powder |
3/4 tablespoon paprika |
1/2 tablespoon hot sauce (or to taste) |
1 cup worcestershire sauce |
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar |
4 cups beef stock |
1/2 cup vegetable oil |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients and simmer together for about 15 minutes in a large saucepan. 2. Cool slightly and use as a delicious grilling mop for beef or pork. |
