This recipe is better than the Little Debbie cakes you buy in the store. I found this recipe on the internet. It's a must try recipe! Ingredients:
2/3 cup shortening |
2 eggs, at room temperature |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
4 cups flour |
2 cups sugar |
1 cup cocoa |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 teaspoons salt |
2 cups milk, at room temperature |
2 egg whites, beaten stiff |
1/2 cup shortening |
2 cups powdered sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. preheat oven at 350. 2. cream shortening. 3. add eggs and vanilla. 4. sift together the dry ingredients. 5. add dry ingredients to the shortening mixture alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredient drop by T on a greased cookie sheet. 6. bake 15 minutes. 7. cool. 8. Filling: Mix all the filling ingredients together. 9. spread a tsp (or a little more) on a cookie. 10. top with another cookie. 11. enjoy. 12. makes 2 dozen cookies. |
