Whole Wheat Vegan English Muffins |

I love English muffins and this gives you a good dose of daily fiber! I used all wheat flour but if you want lighter, go for 50/50. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups water |
1 pkg. yeast |
3 t honey |
1 1/4 c wheat flour |
1 1/4 c white flour |
1/4 c vital wheat gluten |
1/2 t salt |
Directions:
1. Combine yeast, 1/2 C of warm water, and 1/2 T honey- let sit until foamy 2. Add the rest of the water and honey 3. Add flour, wheat gluten, and salt 1/2 C at a time until the dough doesn't stick to the side of the bowl 4. Roll out onto flour surfaced. Knead for six minutes. 5. Put in oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about one hour 6. Take dough and divide into 12 pieces. 7. Preheat skillet to med-low heat 8. Roll into balls and let sit for 30 minutes 9. Pat down balls into English muffin form and let sit until skillet gets hot 10. Cook English muffins for five minutes on each side, and then three minutes-or until brown 11. Let sit, cut in half, spread jelly, and enjoy! |
