I've been making pizza dough since 1995 and this recipe has evolved over that time. Family loves it. I say it makes 4 servings but it's really probably 4-6 depending on how hungry the bunch is and how thin you roll your dough. Read more ... Ingredients:
1 cup beer (see note) or water |
1 tsp salt |
2 tbsp sugar |
1 tbsp garlic herb mrs dash |
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil |
1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour + a little extra |
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour |
2 tsp dry active yeast (or one little package) |
cornmeal - enough to sprinkle on baking pan... |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in bread machine in order listed. 2. Set on Dough setting 3. When complete, punch down, divide in 2 for two round pizzas or use all of it for one pizza on a rectangular baking stone or jelly roll pan. 4. Sprinkle a little cornmeal in baking stone or pizza pans. 5. Roll out dough. Transfer to stone/pan. 6. Top according to tastes. 7. Preheat oven 425 degree F. When hot, place in oven and bake 12-15 minutes. Sides should lift and center shouldn't be doughy. 8. Note: I made this with Guiness once. My husband had a heart attack that I'd wasted a Guiness in a recipe. It did taste very good though. However, any cheap beer really works just fine. |
