Whole Wheat Pitas

An easy recipe for making home made pita bread! Top it with hummus or make a sandwich
Ingredients:
4 cups whole wheat flour
1 tbsp dry yeast
1 1/4 cups warm water
1/2 tsp salt (optional)
Directions:
1. Sift together 2 cups of flour and yeast
2. Add water and salt and mix well
3. Continue adding in remaining flour just until dough cleans the sides of the bowl.
4. I only ended up using about 1 cup more flour
5. Knead dough for 4-5 minutes
6. Divide dough into 10 balls
7. Roll each ball out onto floured surface
8. Place on baking sheet and allow to rise for 30 minutes
9. Flip pitas and place in oven for about 5 minutes
10. They will pop up when finished baking
