                                                3/4 cup warm water  |  
                                                1 tablespoon active dry yeast  |  
                                                2 tablespoons sugar  |  
                                                2 tablespoons butter, softened  |  
                                                1/2 teaspoon salt  |  
                                                1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour  |  
                                                1 tablespoon wheat gluten  |  
                                                1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning  |  
                                                1 teaspoon thyme  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. 2. Add remaining water, sugar, butter, salt, 1/2 cup flour, and wheat gluten, blend well. 3. Stir in herbs and 1 cup flour to make a soft dough. Knead for 8-10 minutes. 4. Place in greased bowl, cover let rise until doubled, about 1 hour. 5. Punch dough down, divide into 12 equal pieces; shape into balls. 6. Put the balls in a greased 8' round pan. Cover; let rise in warmplace until doubled in size, about 45 minutes. 7. Bake at 400F for 15 -20 minutes.                              |
