This is an incredible cake. It is moist, goes a long way and is always a hit when I take it to church or office potlucks. Enjoy Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1 cup water |
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 cups granulated sugar |
2 eggs |
1/2 cup sour cream |
1 teaspoon almond extract |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
frosting |
1/2 cup butter |
1/4 cup milk |
4-1/2 cups confectioners sugar |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract |
1 cup chopped nuts |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan bring and water to a boil. 2. Remove from heat and stir in flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, 1 teaspoon almond extract and baking soda until smooth. 3. Pour batter into a greased jelly roll pan. 4. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. 5. Cool for 20 minutes. 6. Combine 1/2 cup butter and milk in a saucepan then bring to a boil. 7. Remove from heat. 8. Mix in sugar and 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. 9. Stir in pecans and spread frosting over warm cake. |
