This just sounded delightful when I found it in The Wichita Eagle! A little different from the other white sangria recipe on Zaar in that it is a little lighter on the Liqueur, using only Calvados (one of my favorite brandies of all time!). be sure to use soda water (not club soda) in this one. I guessed at 6-8 servings - won't know until I make it once myself. Ingredients:
3 tablespoons sugar |
6 ounces calvados |
1 lime, sliced |
1 lemon, sliced |
2 peaches, cut into wedges |
3 apples, seeded and cut into wedges (ripe green) |
750 ml white wine (rioja preferred but other dry white wine fine too) |
1 pint raspberries |
sparkling soda water, for topping off glasses of sangria at table |
Directions:
1. Combine sugar, Calvados, lime, lemon, peaches and apples in a large pitcher. 2. Cover with 1 bottle of Rioja wine and chill sangria several hours. 3. To serve, spoon fruits into glasses or goblets, adding a few fresh raspberries in each glass, pour wine over top of the fruit. Top glasses of sangria off with a splash of soda water and serve. |
