Here in north east ohio this is called white pizza or poormans pizza. The elderly lady that gave me the recipe said poormans because the people working in the mills sometimes ran out of money before they rain out of days between pays, so this was an easy dish using what was normally in the pantry Ingredients:
use 1 portion of your favorite pizza dough(or can use frozen or store bought rounds) |
olive oil |
garlic to taste |
oregano to taste |
black pepper to taste |
pickled banana pepper rings hot or mild i prefer the hot |
shreded mozzerella cheese |
Directions:
1. Pre-heat oven to 450 2. place your dough ina pizza pan or on a peel if using a stone 3. brush dough with olive oil 4. sprinkle with garlic, black pepper and oregano 5. put as many peppers on as you like 6. top with mozzerella 7. bake 10-15 minutes until bubbly and dough is browned 8. enjoy |
