The recipe takes a little work, but it is well worth the effort. I am asked to make this icing every time I make a cake now. It is nice and creamy, holds colors very well. This will frost the sides and top of a 8 or 9 in round cake. Read more . This recipe was used on the puppy in the picture. It is not a pure white icing as I use butter and non clear vanilla. When you are beating in the sugar it takes a long time to make it not grainy. I have found the name brand sugar works best. Ingredients:
1/4 lb white chocolate |
3 tb flour |
1 c milk |
1 c sugar |
1 c butter or margarine |
1 1/2 ts vanilla |
Directions:
1. Melt chocolate in top of double boiler. 2. Stir flour into chocolate. 3. Add milk a little at a time and blend well. 4. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until very thick. 5. Cool completely. 6. In a large bowl, beat sugar, butter and vanilla until light and fluffy. 7. Gradually add cooled chocolate mixture and beat until 8. icing is the consistency of whipped cream. |
