These are incredibly rich and amazingly decadent chocolate - a white chocolate brownie with dark chocolate chips - best of both worlds. And buttery! And moist! And...welll, you get the point. From a 1980's Bon Appetit. Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter |
16 ounces white chocolate chips |
4 large eggs |
pinch salt |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 cups flour |
16 ounces chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Set oven to 350. Lightly butter 9 x 13 pan, line with wax paper and butter the wax paper. 2. Melt butter, remove from heat and add half of white chocolate; do NOT stir. 3. Using mixer, beat eggs with pinch of salt until frothy. Gradually add sugar and beat until pale yellow and slowly dissolving ribbon forms when beaters are lifted. Add butter mixture, vanilla, salt and flour and mix until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips and rest of white chocolate chips. 4. Spread in pan and bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out almost clean - about 50-55 minutes. 5. Cool on rack - cut into 32 squares. |
