1. Preheat oven to 350 2. Beat butter and shortening at medium speed until creamy 3. Gradually add sugar then eggs 1 at a time beating well until blended 4. Combine flour baking powder and salt 5. Add to the butter mixture altering with the buttermilk 6. Beat at low speed til blended add the extract 7. Place in 2 papered 12 cup muffin tins 8. Fill 2/3 full 9. Bake 12-15 minutes 10. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes 11. Frost & decorate
