From Mom's notebook Ingredients:
3 cups cake flour |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/2 cup butter, softened |
2 cups sugar |
1 1/2 cups cold water |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
4 egg whites, beaten stiff |
Directions:
1. Sift flour and baking powder together. 2. Cream butter and sugar together. Add dry ingredients and water alternately, starting and ending with dry. Add vanilla. Remove from mixer. 3. Fold in egg whites carefully. 4. Bake in 2 8 cake pans (do not grease pans) at 350F for 30 minute. 5. Top with Seven Minute Icing. |
