In addition to haggis, tartan and bagpipes Scotland is also synonymous with mists, drizzle, cold, and damp. It is inevitable that at the end of a dreech winter's day we should require a little something to warm the soul (even if we do have central heating and double glazing) and what better way than with a whiskey toddy. A toddy is also excellent way to treat the common cold - it won't cure you but after a couple of toddies you won't care either! Ingredients:
1 1/2 fluid ounces scotch whisky |
1 1/2 fluid ounces hot water |
1 teaspoon heather honey or 1 teaspoon sugar |
1 dash lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Dissolve a teaspoon of honey/sugar in a glass of boiling water. 2. Add a glass of whiskey and a little lemon juice, stir. 3. Serve while still hot. |
