Ingredients:
1 cup raisins |
1/2 cup irish whiskey |
3 cups all-purpose flour |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon orange zest |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 1/3 cups buttermilk |
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine, softened |
1 tablespoon irish whiskey |
Directions:
1. Soak rasins in irish whiskey overnight. 2. Combine flour,sugar,baking powder,salt and orange rind in a large bowl,mix well. 3. Stir in rasin mixture,blending well. 4. Dissolve soda in buttermilk,add to flour mixture,stirring well. 5. Stir in butter,mixing well. 6. Spoon batter into a greased 2-quart casserole. 7. Bake at 350 for 55 minutes or until golden brown. 8. Cut into squares and serve with whisky butter. 9. WHISKY BUTTER: Combine butter and whisky blending well. |
