This recipe goes with Chocolate Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups milk |
1/2 cup butter or margarine |
1 cup sugar |
3 tablespoons cornstarch |
1/4 cup water |
1/2 cup bourbon |
Directions:
1. Cook first 3 ingredients in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring often, until butter melts and sugar dissolves. 2. Combine cornstarch and 1/4 cup water, stirring until smooth. Add to butter mixture; stir in bourbon. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly; boil, stirring constantly, 1 minute. |
