from Mossey community cookbook Ingredients:
3 lbs yellow turnips |
1/4 cup butter |
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
pepper |
3 eggs |
1 cup soft stale bread crumb |
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice |
Directions:
1. Cook turnip until tender. 2. Drain and mash. 3. Add butter, sugar,salt and pepper.( I don't add as much salt as recipe calls for). 4. Beat with electric beater. 5. Add eggs one at a time and continue beating until light and fluffy. 6. Stir in bread crumbs and lemon juice. 7. Pour into 1-1/2 qt casserole. 8. Bake 375 for 50 minute. |
