Wheat bulgur stew with tomatoes and lamb. Use ground or other cut of lamb. Use more meat for a heartier meal, less for just the flavor. Ingredients:
1 lb lamb |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 t vegetable oil |
1 clove garlic, chopped |
1 cup bulgur |
2 cups water |
28 oz diced tomatoes, canned |
1 salt to taste |
1 pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. In large sauce pan brown lamb. Remove to colander to drain. 2. Cook onion in oil until softened. Add garlic and cook another minute. 3. Add meat mixture, bulgur, water, and tomatoes to sauce pan. 4. Bring to boil, reduce temperature to simmer and cover. 5. Stir occasionally, adding water as necessary to keep stew thick, but not too thick. 6. Cook until bulgur is softened, around 30 minutes. 7. Add salt and pepper to taste. |
