A tangy tomato and weinie soup that is really hearty and warming on the coldest day Or if you just are feeling kind of under the weather, this soup will perk you right up and put a smile on your face. I learned to mske this soup from my fiances mother and it has been a favorite of his since he was a boy . Ingredients:
1 (29 ounce) can tomato sauce (hunts) |
1 yellow onion |
1 teaspoon salt & pepper, to taste |
1 (24 piece) package jennie o turkey hot dogs |
1 (5 lb) bag russet potatoes |
Directions:
1. Ok, First of all you need a large pot and then you take and dump the sauce in to it. 2. Then you take the sauce can and add cold water to it up to the top and then add it to the pot. 3. Turn it on Med/high or hot enough to boil. 4. Take the onion and chop it up in to a med dice. once you have done that add it to the pot. 5. Open the weiniers and cut about 1/2 the lg package into slices, then add to pot . 6. While the weiniers are cooking chop up the potaotes and once the weiners in the pot are puffed up and it is boiling turn down the heat a little and then add the potatoes. ( About 12 - 14 ) It depeneds on how thick you want the soup. 7. Once the potatoes are done then dinner is ready. 8. I serve this with a loaf of french bread it is good to dip in to the soup. 9. I hope that you enjoy this as much as we do, you can also add your own ingredients to make it your own if you wish. |
