There is nothing like an icy, frosty sorbet to cool you off during the hot summer weather. Adapted from Southern Living. Made in a electric ice-cream maker. 2 hour chill time. Ingredients:
3 cups water |
1 cup sugar |
4 cups seeded chopped watermelon |
1/4 cup lime juice |
Directions:
1. Add the water and sugar to a saucepan. 2. Bring mixture just to a boil over high heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. 3. Take saucepan from heat and let cool. 4. Using an electric blender, process the sugar syrup and watermelon (in batches) until smooth. 5. Add in lime juice and stir to combine. 6. Cover and chill mixture for 2 hours. 7. Pour chilled mixture into the container of a 1-gallon ice cream maker. 8. Freeze according to the manufacturer's directions. |
